NTEC PROGRAMS OVERVIEW

Alternative Education

Niagara Training & Employment Agency Inc. and the District School Board of Niagara have a formal agreement to provide an Alternative Educational Program for students aged 10 to 16, who are experiencing difficulties in school. More details.

Custodial

In this program, participants learn to perform a number of custodial and maintenance duties in two NTEC buildings. More details.

EcoGardens

We offer annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, mulch and soil for sale to the public. By purchasing plants from our retail location, customers are investing in NTEC's valuable community program. More details.

Grounds & Landscaping

Trusting your outdoor environment to NTEC means more than just exceptional quality and value, it means real opportunities for people with special needs. More details.

Horticulture Therapy

Specially equipped garden and planting areas provide an enjoyable opportunity for individuals to improve their physical health, functional capacity, and spiritual health. More details.

Hospitality & Food Services

Participants gain valuable work experience and contribute to the community by preparing meals for organizations, staff, and other participants in the various training programs. More details.

Regional Respite

In conjunction with Niagara Support Services, Niagara Training & Employment Agency operates a six-bed, wheelchair accessible respite program. This is one of two regional respite programs, which is a resource of last resort for children with high needs. More details.

Summer Work Experience

Students over the age of 18 diagnosed with a developmental disability may apply to access NTEC programs during the summer months. More details.

Waste Management

NTEC participants have been 'green' since 1974 when NTEC started a door-to-door newspaper collection program. Today’s program participants are proud to work in the state-of-the-art envirocentre operated by Niagara Recycling. More details.

Youth Employment Niagara

This program is designed to assist individuals 16 years of age and older with a disability to find and secure competitive employment. More details.
