NTEC ECOGARDENS WORKSHOP DATES
Chris DiRaddo of Sassafras Farms and NTEC EcoGardens will be offering free gardening workshops through three Niagara libraries in March and April. These sessions will have you looking forward to spring with a few new tips for your garden to tuck away. Get started with your planning early this year. After all, spring is just around the corner!
Edible Plants & Landscapes
As food prices rise, and people become more concerned about food safety, freshness and quality, edible landscapes are growing in popularity. Learn the basics of garden design, how to incorporate edible plants into your decorative gardens, planting techniques, maintenance tips, and harvesting your own fruit, herbs and vegetables. Plan ahead and you will be the proud owner of a highly productive and tasty garden!
Native Plants 101
Join Eco Restoration Specialist Chris DiRaddo to learn the basics of native plants. Using native plants just makes sense. They are perfectly adapted to our climate and soil, support the natural environment and encourage wildlife. Chris will focus on time-tested native plants, basic native garden design and soil preparation.
Native Plants 201-Maintaining Your Native Species Garden
Building on the basic knowledge acquired in the first session, participants will learn how maintenance tasks differ slightly for a native species garden. Spring clean-up, fall preparation, soil ammendment and watering techniques will be discussed.
To register for one of our free workshops please contact the library and reserve your seat.
