ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION PROGRAM
Niagara Training & Employment Agency Inc. and the District School Board of Niagara have a formal agreement to provide an Alternative Education Program for students aged 10 to 16, who are experiencing difficulties in school as a result of learning disabilities, emotional difficulties, and social interaction barriers.
The goals of this program are:
- To assist students in developing behaviour that is socially appropriate for the school and working environments
- To assist and encourage students to develop to their fullest potential by promoting and increasing student success and achievement
- To provide an academic program designed specifically to meet individual student needs in an environment that is conducive to learning
- To provide a program that develops attitudes that will ensure future success in transitioning students back to school or the workplace
- To promote and nurture effective communication among home, school and community
- To encourage students to be responsible, dependable, contributing citizens and members of society
- To promote a safe, secure and stimulating environment for all students
